At last night’s board of education meeting, the board voted (5:0) to approve the appointment of Donna Ronzone to the position of director of visual and performing arts (VAPA) and special projects. Dr. Ronzone joined the district in the 2004-2005 school year as principal of Roosevelt Elementary School, a position she will remain in through the current school year.
In addition to oversight of the all curriculum at Roosevelt, from 2009-2012, Dr. Ronzone was also in charge of the district’s elementary music program for the school district.
In this new position, in addition to handling special assignments, Dr. Ronzone will coordinate the development, implementation, articulation, and evaluation of the district’s pre-K through grade 12 visual and performing arts programs, in accordance with the district’s strategic plan for VAPA. The VAPA programs include instrumental, vocal, and general music; theater arts; choral programs; visual arts; dance, and related activities.
